D-Backs No Longer Possible Destination For Mulder

By Greg Esposito, December 22nd, 2006 11:25 AM

According to Jack Magruder at the East Valley Tribune Mark Mulder has taken the Diamondbacks off his short list of teams he is willing to go to. Also Magruder mentions that Arizona offered a $1M base salary with incentives increasing it to a possible $2.5M and included four option years. Honestly it’s a disappointment to see that they weren’t willing to spend a little more on a guy who has the chance to be a good pitcher again and a guy who obviously wanted to play in Arizona based on the fact that the woman he just married is from AZ and he owns a home here. The encouraging thing is the fact that incentives were included, supposedly, even though incentives are a thing the D-backs weren’t suppose to do.
