ASU v. UofA game gets pushed from Thanksgiving…
Apparently, the USC-ASU matchup is now more important than the “Traditional” Territorial Cup Thanksgiving Weekend Match-up:
That’s because ASU will be serving up a 6 p.m. game against Southern California as dessert. The Thanksgiving night game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
And there is a side effect: The annual rivalry game between ASU and Arizona, normally on Thanksgiving weekend, now will be played Dec. 1.
This is very disappointing….Especially for fans who PLAN the entire Thanksgiving weekend around the game. In fact, with the game being pushed to the next weekend, will it lose it’s appeal? I would imagine this creates an extra bye week for both teams.
On top of all this, next year Arizona WILL be at the very least (and very hopefully) a bowl team. ASU; well lets just hope their new hire doesn’t tank the entire program. At the end of the day, we will see if the ASU v. USC prime-time Thanksgiving match-up is really worth it. I doubt it. USC over ASU 46-24.
