The Cardinals are well on their way to a real live playoff season. Ken Whisenhunt is taking the right steps. If any of you saw We Are Marshall, and realized that even you or I could coach a football team, you also realized that the first step is a coaching staff and lots of hand-shaking.
So obviously, after seeing the excellent performance by Matthew McConaughey (Does he have bad outings? The man makes chick flicks okay for those of us without a Y chromosome), Coach Whisenhunt decided he should follow suit and did some major hand shaking.
The first hire was defensive backs coach Teryl Austin, a Seattle transplant, giving the Cardinals an extra edge over their soon to be division rivals. (It is just hard consider anyone a rival when you are 5-12)
Number two coaching move from We Are Marshall. Form a good relationship with the players who survived the plane crash. Wait… there wasn’t a plane crash for the Cardinals? They just lost those games on their own? With a full team? How many pro-bowl calibur players?!
“I think the biggest thing I learned from coach,” obviously we are talking about Mr. McConaughey here, “is relating to the players, having an open door policy, where they can come in and talk to you," stated Whisenhunt. "There's things that they want to have input on, which is an important part, because we're in this thing together. That's what we want to create here."
Basically, Whisenhunt has to lead us to a spirited victory and give the game ball to someone with the last name of Bidwill. Actually, if Bidwill can just petition the NFL rules committee to bend the rules a little… I think I have a field goal kicking horse who could help just enough.
Wait… we have a pro-bowl kicker? He didn’t die in the plane crash?
