Marcus Williams

The sophomore, who is battling two sprained wrists, was held out of last night’s contest against ASU for a “violation of a team rule,” UA head coach Lute Olson said

A source close to the team said Williams broke the rule in Los Angeles, where the Wildcats played USC and UCLA last weekend.

My reaction to this is simple…Lute being Lute. Why not suspend him for the North Carolina game too to get some sort of reaction out of the team. When you suspend a player for the weakest team in the conference, even if they are your most ardent rival, you purposely did that.

Now, we don’t know exactly “what” rule that Williams broke, but I can guarantee you that if Marcus was suspended for two games, it would be a much more power statement to the team…Maybe even one that would help them get back on track. Give me a break Lute.
