With the parity that surrounds the NFL, I have made it my personal belief that the Arizona Cardinals are going to the Superbowl, IN ARIZONA!

I hear talk all throughout the state about getting above .500, getting a wild card, or maybe winning the division. I will not take any of that. The Cards have the keys to a superbowl. With a few choice moves, they are there, and in reality, they are here!

They first need the coaching staff to choose a direction and run with it, all or nothing, go 100 percent into whatever decision they make for the style of offense and defense they want to run. From there, they need a strong linebacker corps to anchor their defense, and a strong offensive line to anchor their offense. The other key positions on both sides of the ball filled with mostly strong players and they can reach perfection with some key acquisitions.

Finally, they will need a bit of magic, and a bit of luck. Something to play for, if you will. The Colts got the monkey off their back this year, while the Steelers “won one for the gipper” last year. I leave this up to the media to find some sort of hackeyed plot to thicken up the season, get the fans into the game, and inspire the world.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it here first, the Arizona Cardinals are going to a superbowl, in 2008!

On a completely separate note, I love Arizona for more than the plethora of athletic options. Today, I sat outside my dorm room in shorts and a t-shirt, and worked on homework while also acquiring a beautiful tan. 75 degrees and loving every minute of it. So even if the Cardinals do not attend the Superbowl, at least some poor suffering fans from around the country will get to experience the kind of winter that we get down here in Phoenix. B-e-a-utiful!
