Randy Johnson

Randy Johnson will be “a bit behind” where other pitchers will be when they report to camp next week, “but not significantly,” Diamondbacks GM Josh Byrnes said.

Johnson underwent back surgery in October. “He’s making solid progress and continued progress,” Byrnes said. “We’re still not sure on specifics of a timeline. He’s felt good in all his activities in preparing, whether it’s general conditioning or throwing.”

Good to hear he is making “solid progress.” But more importantly here are the words “when they report to camp next week”…NEXT WEEK! That is unbelievably. Spring training is just around the corner….ahhh….can’t wait for Bonds to start showing up everywhere…

Through his agent, Barry Bonds indicated to the Giants in negotiations this winter that he had no plans to retire after 2007 or even after 2008.
He wanted a vesting option for 2008 included in his latest contract with the Giants. There was very little outside interest in Bonds this winter even with him approaching Hank Aaron’s record. He better be on best behavior this year if he expects to have a market for his services next winter. Feb. 6 - 1:27 pm et

Oh wait! He already has. Get ready for another exciting year or two or three of never ending, never stopping, always going Bonds headlines. Hey the silver lining here is that he “had no plans to retire”….For our sake lets hope that he just disappears….
