Jovanovski’s Season Might Be Over

Ed Jovanovski's season might be over. He has a nagging groin injury that has plagued him for a few weeks now and it is reportedly the same type of injury that Patrick Fischer had surgically repaired. Fischer is now out 6-8 weeks and Jovanovski could suffer the same fate.

If his season ends by the end of the weekend, it is huge for the defensive structure of the Phoenix Coyotes. Jovanovski and Ballard were the two solid defensemen that showed up every night; Jovanovski played a high intensity game and contributed offensively leading the blue line in points with 11 goals and 18 assists. His booming slap shot from the blue line will be sorely missed.

Mikael Tellqvist and Mike Zigomanis signed two year extensions on their contracts. Yanic Perreault has agreed to the length but is still discussing financial details. Perreault essentially single-handedly rescued the Coyotes season by coming in at the right time and contributing goals. He deserves a raise and a chance to start the season with the Coyotes next year.
