Editor’s Note: Vash01 has brought up a really good point. It’s something I have meant to speak about and haven’t done it yet. Since Vash brought it up in the Diaries, I thought it would be good to bring it to the forefront and see what everyone thought. I couldn’t find the article spoken of below but if anyone knows where it is, please link to it in the comments or send it to me at sunsblogger@gmail.com and I’ll add it.

The AZ Rep today printed some comments from Suns ‘’. There were 5 negative and 1 positive comment. The negatives were what we have been reading elsewhere- no defense, not using the bench, etc. Some negative comments were very strong/highly critical of the team- ironically they appeared after a 3-1 road trip by the Suns. Basically most people were saying that the Suns won’t make it to even the WCF.

While I have shared some of those concerns from time to time, I feel such comments are indicative of the low morale in this city. I cannot imagine the Mavs or the Spurs making those kinds of comments, and both teams have their own share of weak links, and some disappointing losses.

The only thing the Suns can do to stop the naysayers is to win it all this year. There is still next year, and I do believe they will win it next year, in case they don’t pull it off this year.  Still, it is disappointing to me that the local have no faith in the team that has 58 wins so far and is #2 in the league.

I don’t think the Diamondbacks’ would do that to them, no matter how many games they lose, and/or how they play. IMO it’s because they won the championship 5 years ago. The Suns need to win just one to win their back.  However, they also need support from their THIS year.

I won’t give up on the Suns!

But I form my own opinions, not make mine based on the opinions of the geeks on the local news that have never played an actual sport.

This town has too many uninformed fans that don’t know the most exciting basketball team in 2 decades when they see it… Whether they win or not, most fans are foolish as to what we have in the Suns.

Yeah, this thinking is a bit ridiculous. Fans I think, just don’t want to get let down. But let’s face it, these Suns are very good, better than last year and it is stupid to discount their play. They will win 60 games and you don’t think this year is the year? You are wrong if you think that way…but then again….i have been wrong too….

I think everyones expectations were very high with the two winning streaks that the team had earlier this year and simply don’t understand why there hasn’t been a 3rd streak and therefore start questioning the teams ability to go all the way.

I am constantly amazed by the abilities this team has and their games are always exciting to watch (yes, even when they lose). Unless the complainers can say that they do their jobs perfectly 100% of the time, they need to back off the guys and let them do what they do best. It certainly doesn’t help the team morale if they read a lot of negative **** from so called fans.

Do I think they’ll win the finals this year? Definitely, and I’ll enjoy pushing all the complainers off the bandwagon when they try to jump on! Go Suns!
