The Dbacks, according to azcentral.com, have come to terms with the number 9 pick in the 2006 Amateur draft. The Scott Boras client and the Diamondbacks came to terms on what is being reported as a $4 Million deal similar to that signed by Craig Hasen last year with the Boston Red Sox.
Scherzer had pitched for the independent Fort Worth Cats. In 16 innings pitched he was 1-0 with a 0.56 ERA striking out 25 while walking only 4 and opponents hitting .164 off him in 3 starts.
