With the NHL Entry Draft, it is somewhat amazing to think that a player and a particular system could be evenly matched. So much observation and research is completed on these young players that Scouting Departments essentially have to project a few years in the future to consider their ultimate worth to the franchise.

Kyle Turris and the Phoenix Coyotes seem to be very complimentary, and from first glance, both parties are more than pleased with the opportunities that await them.

From viewing the proceedings last night, I paid close attention to the interviews of the top candidates before and after their selections by their respective teams. The one young man that struck me the most in terms of poise and potential was Kyle Turris.

When pressed by the media about where he would like to go and at which number, Turris said, "If I get drafted by any team, I would be thrilled."

With four players ranked in the top 50 of top prospects:

Peter Mueller

(Muller in overtime shootout at the IIHF U 20 Semifinal Round. Note: The clip is rather long, but in my mind completely worth viewing.)

Martin Hanzal
Blake Wheeler

(homage to Neal Broten)

Keith Yandle
and now adding Kyle Turris,

think of what could happen if the players stay healthy, develop in the right ways, and live up to their potential as hockey athletes?

Phoenix Coyotes fans will be thrilled too.
