More Phoenix Coyotes Waiver News

The Phoenix Coyotes placed Dave Scatchard on waivers. Since the end of January, he was out of lineup due to a concussion injury.

In 2005, the Coyotes traded defenseman David Tanabe to the Boston Bruins for Scatchard. Up until his injury, he hadn’t done much for the Coyotes only scoring eight points in 46 games. The previous season, after the trade with the Bruins, he was a minus 11 and scored 11 goals with 12 assists.

I don’t think any team will pick up this player unless they need to round out some depth issues with a utility player. I fully expect that Scatchard will not be claimed.

Minnesota Wild goaltender Manny Fernandez has been traded to the Boston Bruins. Fernandez was potentially linked to be a possible solution to the perceived goaltending issue with the Coyotes, but the Bruins were able to put together a solution that worked for both teams.
