The Phoenix Coyotes re-sign goaltender David LeNeveu to a one-year contract. LeNeveu played with the Coyotes during the 2005-2006 as the backup to Curtis Joseph. Last season, he lost his job to Mike Morrison only to be sent down to the San Antonio Rampage. Goaltender Mikael Tellqvist was brought to the Coyotes via a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Now that Curtis Joseph most likely will not be back for this season in a Coyotes sweater, it is possible that there is a job opening in net. However, I still will not be surprised if another goaltender is brought in to supplant (or support) either Tellqvist or LeNeveu.

In a brief stint with the Coyotes last season, he stated in a post-game interview how hungry he was to come back to the NHL club. Hopefully for him, and the Coyotes hockey team, the goaltending issues will become clearer.
