Should the Dbacks have made a deadline deal?

Should the Dbacks have made a deal? With the deadline having come and gone without a deal for the Dbacks, it really begs one very simple, very plain question. Did the Diamondbacks do the right thing by not making a deal?

I think the D-Backs followed the same format as other teams did (including LA and San Diego) in terms of not giving up a lot for a short-term fix. I thought I heard that they got in the mix for Teixeira, however, Texas was looking for too much in a package deal that would have left any team (now Atlanta) with contract struggle in the off-season.

I didn’t follow the D-Backs at all this year until they came into Wrigley and took 2 of 3 from the Cubs (which I thought would return the Cubs to normalcy). I’m very impressed with the young talent they have, especially Quentin and Young.

The talks been about the Cubs and Philly being hot in the NL, but the rest of the league (including San Diego and LA), better take notice that AZ should be considered in the same sentence.

The D-Backs could play the role of spoiler in September.
