Thats right. Bigger is better. Don’t let anyone tell you wrong. On top of that Chase’s scoreboard was outdated. Hell it was 10 years old. Technology is moving too fast for these scoreboards to keep up.
In any event, I think this is a great thing for the fans. Let’s just hope they don’t charge more for this puppy:
Diamondbacks President Derrick Hall said plans are in motion to install the largest scoreboard in baseball at Chase Field during the off-season. It will be 144 feet wide and 55 feet high. It would be 900 square feet larger than the one at Turner Field in Atlanta and likely be recognized as the mega-toy of all professional sports.
The price tag on the state-of-the-art high-definition board: “North of $10 million, probably close to $12 (million),” said Hall, adding that the infrastructure, among other things, will need to be overhauled. - AZcentral.com
