Cardinals announce practice squad. No Buster Davis

The Cardinals team blogger, Darren Urban, just released the practice squad names and what immediately jumps out at you is that neither Buster Davis and Ben Patrick are on that list. You can check out the list by clicking below:
Cardinal’s practice squad list.
The players listed, who were in camp with the Cardinals and were cut on Friday, are Michigan State WR Matt Trannon, Maryland OLB David Holloway, Univ of Mass RB Steve Baylark, Louisiana Layfayette CB Michael Adams, UC Davis OT Elliot Vallejo and arena football league prospect Lang Campbell at QB. The lone player signed who wasn’t in camp is Cameron Vaughn, a 6′ 4″ 240lbs rookie linebacker out of LSU who was signed in 2006 by the Bronco’s and spent the season on the Denver practice squad.
As mentioned, a couple of players who you might have expected the Cardinals to sign would have been 3rd round pick Buster Davis, 7th round pick Ben Patrick who survived the first cut, OG Brian Johnson who got a lot of playing time in camp and QB Shane Boyd who got a good long look by the Cardinals. It’s worth mentioning the team has one slot left on the team so they are probably negotiating with a player or two, or holding a spot open while someone makes up their mind.
The practice squad will occasionally develop a real player, most recently Aaron Francisco started there and is now a solid member of the secondary and special teams. Hopefully there is another gem there to be polished by the team over the next year.
