With the flood of visitors expected for Super Bowl XLII in Glendale Arizona in 2008, there are many people looking for places to stay, as well as for NFL games here and the BCS Bowl.

For out of town visitors who may be considering a vacation rental home instead of a hotel room, AZ Super Bowl Blog has created a check list of things to consider before you rent.

Why a home rental? The answer could determine which house and area is best for your needs.
Renting from an owner vs. a management company
Where is the home located? Check out maps to see if it is close to the University of Stadium. (Stadium 101)
When is the best time to rent the home, hold now, or wait and see what is available?
What days do you expect to visit, are there minimum day requirements?

What to look for in a rental?
-ads that have plenty of recent pictures, perhaps video?
-location (ask for or look for map of home to University of Phoenix Stadium and/or Scottsdale)
-size of home
-what is in home (furniture, entertainment center with HD TV, towels, kitchen basics)
-extras provided
-price per night, in advance and method of deposit and payment
-get it in writing
-hire a local or concierge service to make sure home is in order and ready for visit.

(If you have a live in and around the Glendale Arizona area and have a home that you are thinking about renting out for Super Bowl XLII visitors, check out this two part series that addresses everything from preparing your home to rent out, to how much you should charge.)
