One game played. Suns already at .500

Grant Hill dawns a Suns UniThe Suns got back home in Phoenix yesterday after a week of training camp in Tucson. Before doing so, the Suns actually won a game and lost one, by playing just once, as they beat themselves in the annual intra-squad game. Typically these games provide some fun and a lot of offense; this was no exception. Suns.com is celebrating the event as one of the greatest games of all time, but that’s part of their job anyway. Checking the webcast of the event you could have a look yourself at a very funny afternoon, some nice offensive plays and an overall excellent display of talent on both the White and the Orange team: with a couple of proper roster moves both these Suns’ teams could probably be good enough to reach the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. This Suns will be really good this season !

If the game was any indication we should be pleased by the overall performance of , of the two rookies and possibly by Marcus Banks. Hill can do a lot of positive things on a basketball court and that should be a great asset for the 2007/08 Suns while it’s very encouraging to see the Junior Straw, Tucker and Banks confirm what they showed during the Vegas Summer League last July: those three could provide much needed depth to the Suns’ bench.

Looking forward to the new season, in the meantime the Suns will play the Kings on Thursday night.

Yours truly, Steve Fan (Steve scored 15 and had 9 assists, in case you wanna know)
