Way To Be Busch League Arizona

By Greg Esposito, October 11th, 2007 9:09 PM

I was praising this fan base just hours ago for stepping up big time in the Cub series but wow throwing water bottles at the Rockies is about as Busch League as it gets. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an opposing manger pull his team from the field because of the throwing items. This is going to be a chippy series. Lets just hope it takes place on the field and not from the stands.

It’s actually “bush league” which means amateur, or low brow. I think it refers to minor league antics; something that’s just not classy.

Busch league would maybe tie it in to Busch Stadium or Busch brewing — and since it was mostly water bottles, not beer….that wouldn’t apply.

    Language geek, sorry.

I was trying to be funny. Apparently I failed at my attempt. I used Busch referring to beer because the fans were supposedly drunk when they threw the water bottles. We appreciate our language geeks on the site. Keep coming back.
