Another loss. At USC this time. 20-13.
Can things get any worse for the Arizona Wildcat football team?
Yes, it can, says the Stanford Rivals reporter Erik Williams:
“A win over Arizona would sort of signify the Cardinal program passing the Wildcats’, as will be the case when Stanford goes up against Washington State in a month.
Not that Stanford and Arizona go after the same recruits, but the Cardinal surpassing the Wildcats – leaving the U of A as bottom feeders – would be huge. It would show progress from Jim Harbaugh in his first season and leave another team to start over with a new head coach…
Stanford can surpass Arizona in the road to Pac-10 supremacy, and that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Plus, good teams win games they’re supposed to win. Arizona isn’t a good team and Stanford should win.
Let’s see if the Cardinal can do what they should be expected to on Saturday.”
Oh yeah? Well, um…at least Arizona didn’t lose its starting running back for the rest of the year to injury.
Look for the Cats to actually take this one Saturday night. With the Tree now talking smack, I’ve had enough. I think this Wildcat team has too.

A lifelong fan of lost causes...and Arizona football. This fall Mike Stoops can finally make a statement that the two aren't the same.
