Northern Arizona tips its hat to longtime Wildcats Coach Lute Olson, who made a surprise announcement this weekend to take a leave of absence. Lute is a true sportsman, and has supported efforts for Arizona players across the board, his Wildcats have won 11 Pac-10 championships, and reached the Final Four four times and winning the 1997 NCAA title.
Lute is a straight shooter, as we learned from working with the coach on various projects via Fox Sports Radio. He was quite frank for this move, “For the past 25 years, I have always given 110 percent to the team and this job,” Olson said. “In light of this personal matter, I feel it is in the best interest of the team and the University of Arizona to take a leave of absence.” We wish Lute all the best, and look to his successful return!
