Running with the Bulls, Suns win 112-102
(Photo AP Photo/Paul Connors) Entering the fourth quarter tied at 75 against a tough Bulls team, with Stoudemire in foul trouble (5 in 26 minutes), and Chicago coming back after being down by 10 at the half, the Suns finally turned it on at full speed scoring 37 points in a 112-102 win over Chicago.
The fourth quarter was the best played by the Suns this season showing the kind of basketball we all love to see. During a 2-minute 9-0 run in the middle of the last quarter, Suns’ basketball was just perfect and the crowd was really into it. I think D’Antoni words on a lack of enthusiasm by the Suns’ fans had a positive effect as well.
The rhythm was so high that in the end the Bulls were clearly unable to run with Nash and Co. Despite the fact that Phoenix used only 7 players (8 if you count three minutes played by Brian Skinner).
Barbosa led the Suns with 25 on an excellent 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, Hill scored 24 while Marion added 21 including a couple of great plays in the final minutes. Nash was solid throughout the game guiding the offense – despite a few turnovers – but absolutely spectacular during the fourth quarter, only 10 points in the end for Steve (3-11 from the field) but 15 assists.
Chicago had 24 points from Gordon and 23 from Deng.
The Suns are now 7-2 on the year and are getting ready to travel to 6-3 Houston Saturday night (6:30 PM).
