Royal Rumble in the Desert
I am still not a big fan of back to back games. But I will admit it feels much better to be the winning side of one of these sessions.
The Kings came down to the desert and received another lesson in underestimating the Coyotes. It’s amazing to see the Yotes deliver 60 full minutes of hockey. Even better is seeing the support they get from Bryz.
Bryz’s temp pads look better than the Quacker gear.

We actually found a way around Barbie this time. (sorry Kings fans but Barbie is just too much more fun to use than Labarbra) With scoring from what I would have thought of as several unlikely suspects. York delivered the first payload in the first period, fighting off Brad Stuart to put the puck in behind Barbie. Then the lil princeling Moulson tied it up 1 -1. It was a really evil sharp angle shot from out by the circles that I’m sure Bryz would like to call do voers for but not to worry, the rest of the Yoties scoring committee was ready to go to work.
The second period Yorkie came through first again with his second goal of the night (2 goals for basically only 4 sogs! nice work Yorkie) , followed by Kapi to put the game at a real nice 3 - 1 Yotes. And of course the piece de resistance from the Captain in the third when he basically stops short, fakes Barbie out of position and plops an in-close wrister right under him. 4 - 1 Yotes for the final. Chalupa time! (does anyone actually use their ticket to go get the free chalupa from Taco Bell?)
Ziggy again shows that he is a master craftsman as he went 11 - 8 in the dots (many of them crucial wins on the PK) combined with Rhino and his 7 - 2 FO wins played a very important part in our puck possession time.
We did give up too many PPs though, a lot of hooking and holding crap that could have hurt us badly against a Kings team that is in the top standings for PP delivery. A lot of collisions
(yeah some of them probably weren’t on purpose) a couple of coincidental penalties that didn’t hurt us but show a wee discipline issue.

(Say what you will about Wellie bein a brawler…which he isn’t…the guy can go toe-to-toe but more often walks away and doesn’t put the team win in jeopardy). The PK was phenomenal, rather than our former 50% kill rate, we stopped all 6 King’s PPs and actually delivered on one of our own chances.
Does all this brouhaha mean we’re out of the woods? Hell no! It just means that we can compete, that we have a chance, if we do all the little things, like actually capitalizing on a PP, w/ Bryz in net and the PK on a roll, penalty trouble just got a lil bit less hairy(if we stay outta the box it will be easier to stay in the game) . If the scoring committee keeps their act together and at least 3 members show up each game we can be contenders and there may yet be a sea of white in the desert in 08.
Interesting tidbit since the Webprowlin section isn’t ready for prime time yet - http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20071122/SPORTS/711220069
