Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Rock the Super Bowl XLII Half-time Show

Mudcrutch Farm (a fan community of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) announced Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers would perform at the Super Bowl XLII half-time show on their website Mudcrutch.com:

November 30, 2007
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be performing at the 2008 XLII Halftime show. Tom Petty management, along with the NFL will make the official announcement on December 2, 2007.

The band is know for such hits as "Free Fallin," "American Girl," and "The Waiting." The Heartbreakers have a wide fan demographic making them the perfect match for a nationwide audience. The NBA recently used music and video from Petty and company for promotional purposes.

The official announcement will be made tomorrow (Sunday December 2). Look at the teasing hidden message graphic on Tom Petty.com:
