Hill’s 28 lead Suns past Knicks in NYC
(AP Photo/Kathy Willens) Grant Hill had his best game of the year (28 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists) to lead the Suns past the Knicks for a 115-104.
“He’s a seven-time All-Star,” Phoenix coach Mike D’Antoni said “He’s healthy and playing great”. It’s a great pleasure to watch Hill in a Suns uniform, it seems like Grant is feeling great and a young 35.
Phoenix opened the 5-game road trip with a win and improved to 13-4 on the season. Stoudemire matched Hill’s total with 28 points as well (on 12-of-17 shooting).
The Suns shot 58 percent from the field and passed the ball around quite well as the 37 assists (15 from Steve Nash) could confirm.
The Knicks stayed in the game until the final quarter (85-84 after three) as they were outscored 30-20 in the last 12 minutes of the game and amid all the “Fire Isiah!” chants late in the game actually played a good game led by Marbury and Curry with 21 points each.
One final sad note on the night as Stephon was hit by the tragic news of the death of his father, Don Marbury, just as the game ended.
The Suns will now continue their Eastern trip with stop no.2 in Indianapolis on Tuesday night (5 PM)
