Saturday was the night of all nights for my brother-in-law Thom and I. Remember when I said to pick what party you spend your money to go to; well the party of all parties was the Penthouse Super Party with Snoop Dogg. Tickets were going for $1000 each; just before the weekend they were offering discounts so you could by the tickets for $750. Again this is where being a writer paid off. I was able to get two media passes for this event. The night started when we were getting ready to leave the hotel, our two stripper friends from across the way were waiting for a cab. The cab didn't show so we offered them a ride to South Beach. This was where renting a mini-van actually paid off, we weren't looking hip driving in the mini-van around south beach until we had two hot stripper in the van! Obviously someone with some money had "rented" them for the night as they were going out on a cruise on a yacht. Oh, the stories you hear on a 45-minute ride from two strippers. We dropped them off at the hotel and tried to park around South Beach. There was no parking and it was getting late, so Thom and I jumped out of the van and walked as Don and Stephen headed back toward the hotel.
As soon as we got into the Penthouse Party, we were greeted by a beautiful woman and given our VIP badges. This was another OPEN BAR party, so we headed right for the bar. They were crowning the 2007 Penthouse Pet of the Year, so there were hot women everywhere. The crowd was pretty pumped, but nothing compared to when Snoop Dog took the stage at 2:00am! Let me tell you there is nothing more pathetic than a 42-year-old white guy from NH singing and dancing to Snoop Dogg, but at that point I didn't care! We had been there since 11:00am, so at this point I was feeling no pain. Although the pets that were around me may have because of my sing-a-long with Snoop. This is where I have to thank my friend and co-worker Drake Giles for burning me a Snoop Dogg CD before I left. I didn't want to be that guy in the back of the dance floor singing the wrong words!
After Snoop left the stage was when the party really started. We stumbled into a small part of the bar where all the pets were. This is where the mission began to get my brother-in-law a picture of him and 2006 Penthouse Pet of the Year Jamie Lynn. As we were taking our pictures with the other pets, this stunning woman came up to one of the other pets and just started making out right in front of us. Now seeing to chicks make out is every guys dream, when it turns out to be the 2006 pet of the year, making out with the 2007 pet of the year I was looking around to see if there was a portable defibrillator around because I was sure I was going to have a heart attack. This became the theme of the back room as all the pets were kissing each other and having a great time. The cameras were flashing everywhere for this beautiful site! In between kisses we were able to get Thom his picture with Jamie Lynn. Let's just say my brother-in-law owes me for life! We ended up closing that bar at 6:00am and getting back to the hotel at roughly 6:30am. It was less than 12 hours until game time!!
