Nine New Year’s Wishes…
besides the usual stuff like world peace, and me being thinner, better organized and more gainfully employed. (Being 52, I find those things make better wishes than resolutions, she said, as she munched on some halvah while typing this.)
I wish…
1. it were March 31 instead of Dec. 31.
2. for me to go to all the Diamondbacks vs. Giants games in San Francisco.
3. for Eric Byrnes to hit .317 (200 hits in 630 AB’s) with 30 homers, 50 doubles, 100 RBI, 110 runs scored, 50 stolen bases (with at least an 85% success rate) and 60 walks in 2008.
4. for Eric’s 200 hits to be evenly distributed throughout the season so that we don’t see the weak August and September we saw last year.
5. for Eric Byrnes to be picked for the All-Star team.
6. for Eric to get a hit and make a put out in the All-Star game.
7. for the Diamondbacks to win the World Series.
8. for Eric Byrnes to be the MVP of the World Series.
9. for me to see a World Series game live. (I’ve been to a couple of playoff games in my day, but never the Series).
Happy New Year, Everyone!
