Playboy will throw its Super Bowl XLII party at Rawhide Pavilion at Wild Horse Pass on Saturday, February 2, 2008… but don’t expect to find sexy playmates sporting chaps and cowboy hats.

Donna Tavoso, who is part of the Playboy team putting on the super-exclusive Feb. 2 fete, said the theme of the party is being kept under wraps. But it definitely will not be Western.

“We looked at over 65 venues in area and we liked the freedom that the (Rawhide) space gave us,” said Tavoso, division vice president of special projects and creative services for the adult magazine. “It was a raw space that gave us a blank pallete to work from . . . and the flexibility to be creative to come up with a theme.”

The Location: Rawhide
The 52,00-square-foot pavilion, which sits next to Rawhide’s 1880s-era Western town and steakhouse, is a covered space used for dinners, award presentations or parties.

Rawhide is located on the Gila River Indian Community near the Gila River Casino and the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa, where the Super Bowl’s NFC champs will be staying.

Who Will Be There
The Super Bowl attracts dozens of parties each year, but tickets to the 1,800-person Playboy event are among the toughest to land. That’s because 26 playmates from across the country, including 2007 Playmate of the Year Sarah Underwood, will be on hand. So will Playboy’s 21-and-over college representatives from around Arizona as well as hired models and go-go dancers.

Ticket Information
Only 20 tickets at $2,000 apiece will be available on www.playboy.com. A limited number of VIP invitations will go out to sponsors, athletes and celebrities.

Sponsored by Jose Cuervo Black and Corona, this year’s soiree will blend Arizona influences with Playboy’s traditions.

“We bring together what the brand represents, the fun and excitement of the game along with celebrities, athletes and beautiful women. We wrap it all up with a sexy fun theme, great food and great drinks,” Tavoso said. “It’s the whole package of living the great life.”
