Suns’ 16 triples beat Bobcats, 118-104
(AP Photo/Paul Connors) Leandro Barbosa scored 30 points in 27 minutes to lead the Suns past the Bobcats 118-104 last night at the US Airways Center.
The Suns made the difference in the third period scoring 33 points, led by Raja Bell’s 4 triples.
Phoenix shot 22-of-35 (63 percent) in the second half (51.9 in the game) and made 16 3-point field goals (seven by Raja and five by Leandro).
Bell scored 24 points in the game and Stoudemire added 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocked shots as well. STAT made 10-of-12 free throws on the night.
Nash scored only 8 points but led a consistent passing attack (11 for Steve) as the Suns dished 30 assists on 42 field goals.
The Suns simply love playing Eastern Conference teams, and if they had to pick a favourite there could defintely be a case for the Bobcats, a franchise that has NEVER won a game against Phoenix in their 4-year history.
J. Richardson led the Bobcats with 24 points (a couple of spectacular dunks as well, we all know J. Rich can jump), Felton score 19 and Okafor added 18 along with 13 boards.
The Suns are now 34-14 overall, an amazing 20-2 against the East, and have once again the best record in the Western Conference.
Phoenix will now have a chance to play one of the best teams in the West as the Hornets (32-15) will be in town on Wednesday night (7 PM).
The Matrix and the Suns are already looking at the upcoming game “We need to come in and prepare tomorrow and be ready on Wednesday”
Despite a recent 3-game losing streak New Orleans is a very good basketball team and have already proved they can beat the Suns on both occasions the two teams faced this season. Let’s see if the Suns can beat them.
