STAT scores 31 as Suns beat Wizards 108-107

02/11/08 1:46 PM

Shaq on Bench’ height=”250″ />(AP Photo/Matt York) The Suns keep beating teams from the East (21-2), this time it was the Wizards, 108-107.

Washington, still playing without Gilbert Arenas and also missing Caron Butler and Antonio Daniels on this occasion, lost for the seventh straight time despite six players in double figures led by A. Jameson with 28 points and B. Haywood with 21.

With an interested Shaq watching his new teammates, Stoudemire led the Suns with 31 points (back to back 30-point games for STAT) and 13 rebounds.

“Amaré is really good” in the words of Coach D’Antoni. I have the feeling STAT is actually mentally “lighter” since the Suns choose to trade away Marion. Who knows…

Phoenix had six players scoring at least 10 points with Bell at 21 (8-of-14 from the field), Diaw and Hill at 13 each, 10 for Skinner and Nash who also had 12 assists.

The Suns (36-15) will now play the Warriors (30-20) on the road before the toughest 4-game home stand of the season: Dallas (34-16), The Lakers (33-17), Boston (39-9) and Detroit (37-13) with the weekend off because of the All-Star Game.

Yours truly, Steve Fan

PS Please Shaq, if you don’t mind, next time wear socks to the game.
