I would like to apologize for not posting a review of the USC game. I figured every ASU fan has been bombarded by the articles stating "The Sun Devils are amazing and a lock for the tournament". These articles have a point. ASU did just beat a very good USC team decisively, and look headed for a 5th place finish in the Pac10. There's a good chance that they do land a spot in March Madness
That's all fine and dandy, but now ASU has to ensure they don't blow their tournament chances, and also fight for positioning.
Their final two regular season games are up in Oregon. They play UO first in a game that, unfortunately, will not be televised in Phoenix. Oregon is backed into a corner, fighting for their tournament lives. The Pit always provides one of the greatest home court advantages for the Ducks. It's such a hard stadium to play in, so the Devils will have to play great basketball in order to come away with a victory.
Then the Devils will likely play a winless Oregon State team on their senior night. As bad as OSU has played this year, a team fighting for their dignity is a dangerous one. This could be a trap game for ASU.
Then, as the probable #5 seed, ASU will face USC in a rubber match at the Staple Center. It is essentially a home game for the Trojans, so this will be the third tough road game in a row for the Sun Devils.
Depending on the outcome of these three games, ASU's seeding could vary by about five spots. If they only beat Oregon State, and 11 or 12 seed is likely. If they can win all three, a 7 seed isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I can’t see the Devils going on this road trip thinking about anything other than the NCAA Tournament and what it will take to get there. As of right now, I don’t know if we are in yet. We still need one win for sure and quite possibly two wins to get the attention of the voters. How ever you slice it, this makes for a great time to be a Devils fan. It seems like forever since we have been in serious contention and debated about in terms on the NCAA Tournament. Gotta love it!

As crazy as it is for me to say this as a Wildcat Alum and fan, but I almost want the Devils to get in this year. You can’t fault the players for a crappy non-conference schedule. Because the pac-10 is so good this year, I think 6 teams will get in. As long as ASU can take 3 more games, or take one on the road this week and have a good showing in the pac-10 tourney…they might just have a chance. Both games are huge this weekend.
