Conor Jackson drove in six runs with a triple and a grand slam as the D’Backs beat the Rangers in a laugher, 9-3. Justin Upton and Chris Snyder also homered.
Brandon Webb allowed two runs in three innings. Tony Pena pitched a scoreless inning.
Eric Byrnes, batting lead-off and playing center field, opened the game with a single and scored on Jackson’s triple. Byrnesie has now reached safely in each of the three spring games in which he has appeared, and he’s scored three runs. But he has gotten only one hit per game. They have all been singles and he has no RBI’s.
(Fingers drumming impatiently on the desk) C’mon, Byrnesie!
