Post-Combine Mock Draft
Well the NFL combine is complete and free agency has started. So it’s time to give my post-combine, 2008 NFL Mock Draft for March. I do my mock draft for all the teams as you can see but the only team that really matters of course in the Arizona Cardinals. Now much has changed since the NFL Combine. Some players moved up in the draft and others have moved down. The only thing the NFL Combine did for me was solidify my belief that Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is a stud. Cromartie runs a 4.3 40, has a 38.5 inch vertical and showed off his strength for a thin guy with 17 bench press reps at 225 lbs. So physically Dominique is more than capable of being a great player in the NFL. If you watch some game film on Cromartie you can see he has great ball skills and good technique. The only question people will have about Dominique is he played 1-AA football. Yes, the competition was not as good, but Cromartie proved at the Senior Bowl that he has what it takes by winning the 2008 Senior Bowl Defensive MVP. I really feel like Dominique might be one of those guys like Jerry Rice, Steve McNair, Tony Romo, and a few others to make the jump from 1-AA to the NFL successfully. He might be a risk to draft, but how many guys coming out of college aren’t a risk? Either way this would be a risk I’m willing to take.
