Welcome back!

Relief pitcher Doug Slaten, who has been rehabbing from microfracture surgery on his right knee (same procedure undergone by Chad Tracy), made his spring training debut in Arizona’s 6-5 victory over the Giants today. He allowed no runs and gave up only one hit in his one inning, earning himself a hold.

Micah Ownings started, but was rocked for four earned runs. However, the Diamondbacks, thanks largely to Conor Jackson who drove in 3 RBIs, including a 2-run homer.

Eric Byrnes had 2 infield hits in three AB’s. That’s what you’ve gotta do to break a slump. But he’s not in the lineup tomorrow. C’mon, BoMel, it’s the last week of spring training. Get him in there everyday so he’ll have his rhythm for the start of the season!
