Hey, I could get used to this!

Brandon Webb pitched like a 20-game winner today, pitching 7 innings, giving up 2 runs, only one of which was earned, and striking out 5 while walking only one.

started the game off right…with a homer. With his combo of speed and power, Chris could be the next Rickey Henderson. (How many lead off homers did Henderson have? For some reason, the number 71 comes to mind, but I wouldn’t put money on it. Whoever knows for sure, please leave a comment).

Justin Upton followed up with a homer in the second inning. That is the third home run in 3 days for J-Up. Good Goin’, kid!

Up to that point, all the Diamondback homers this season had been solo shots. Nine of them. (What was that again about lack of run production from this team?) Then came up again in the 6th inning and hit another one out–those two homer days sure feel good, don’t they, Chris?–only this time, there was a runner on. Crooked numbers…gotta love ‘em when they’re yours.

Conor Jackson, batting cleanup, went 3-5 with 1 RBI today. I could get picky and say you left 4 on base, CoJack, but it’s your first day back from the flu, so I won’t.

But I still gotta rag on Byrnesie. Yes, batting second today, he led off the fifth with a double and scored. He later walked to offset the strike out in the first. But he came up with the bases loaded and two down in the 9th and grounded to short.

Byrnesie, you’ve come up with the bases loaded three times this week and only one run has scored and that was because of an error. NOT GOOD! Or as Orwell would have said, “DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD!” Better up the production or BoMel will have you batting 8th. You say anywhere but 10th is OK by you, but you really don’t want to bat 8th, do you?

One more against the Rockies and then it’s “Home, Sweet Home” for a week and then you come to San Francisco for three and I can’t wait for that!

Tech issues: Has anyone had problems with MLB.tv and the original media player? I can use it for Audio, but it’s not working for video. And did anyone else get that awful reception on their computer the day the D’backs got one-hitted: heavy pixelation, blurred screen and broken up audio even with the new mediaplayer? (I use that one at home. The original player I have to use at work because they don’t allow me to install anything there).
