Suns beat Blazers 100-91 to end season at 55-27. Spurs Next !
(AP Photo/Matt York) The Suns beat the Blazers last night in Phoenix 100-91 to end the regular season at 55-27 and will now face the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the Playoffs.
The game was over before halftime, not because of what was happening on the court, but because the Spurs and the Rockets had already won their games thus leaving the Suns in 6th place in the West.
Once it was clear the Suns had no chance of improving their no. 6 seed, Coach D’Antoni gave much needed rest to his starters. Stoudemire (12 points), Nash (3 points, 5 assists) and Shaq (9 points) didn’t play at all in the second half.
The Suns reserves had a chance to play a lot in the game and they did perform very well indeed, led by Sean Marks 16 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
The Suns controlled the boards and played a solid, yet meaningless, game that both teams tried to win anyway.
Travis Outlaw had 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Blazers while Aldridge added 16 points and 9 boards for the .500 Portland club (41-41).
The highlight of the night, so to speak, possibly came when Brian Skinner and Jarret Jack squared off on the court and both were ejected.
So, after 82 games of the regular season, it’ll be the Spurs again starting this weekend in Texas.
The Western Conference Playoffs will now feature L.A. vs Denver, Utah vs Houston, N.O. vs Dallas and of course Suns vs Spurs
16 is the key number from now on, as 16 are the games the Suns need to win in the Playoffs.

Hopefully the series is equally ref’d. No more of this one-sided BS. I hope they actually let them play, because if something like last year occurs, then the NBA is over. The San Antonio Sterns need to learn to win on their own, not 5 vs. 8 (ref’s on their side).
