Marbury back to Suns?

05/13/08 10:04 AM

Starbury Shoe LineBrace yourselves Phoenix. Its only a rumor, but if there’s any weight to it, Stephon Marbury, his $22 million salary and his $15 shoes could be headed back to the Valley. In this morning’s New York Daily News, writer Mitch Lawrence cites a “source” who says that D’Antoni wants Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa to join him in the Big Apple, and Marbury would be headed back to Phoenix as a main cog in the deal. Read Mitch Lawrence’s entire article here.

I know Steve Kerr has only been on the job as GM since June, but even he has to know what a joke this would be. The Suns only tradable commodities in exchange for a shoot first point guard who has been a misfit everywhere he’s ever played? Plus I can offer up this video nugget as evidence that Steph has lost his freaking mind!

You know what? After watching the video, “Starbury’s” contract only comes out to about $2 million per personality, so maybe its a bargain.

Vince has been part of the Phoenix Sports scene in a few different capacities. First as a fan, Vince has been yelling at his tv during Suns and ASU games since the late 1970's. Vince also saw the media side of things as a radio talk show host from 1996 to 2002, and then again in 2007.

If the Suns trade Diaw and Barbosa for Starbury I will quit being a suns fan. I have been a fan for 20 years and I have never seen a debacle like this before. Going from a team with championship hopes to rebuilding in 2 months? Sarver and Kerr are killing this Franchise. I wish they would look at the diamondbacks success of young talent. Sarver should have paid Joe Johnson and the suns would have won a championship by now. He was the only player who could backup Steve, create his own shot, shoot 3’s and play defense.
