Quick, name another Canadian basketball player
Suns fans breathed easy in December when Steve Nash kinda said he wasn’t interested in playing for the Canadian National team in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Yeah, I said kinda. His quote then:
“I would say no, but I can’t really talk about it until the situation arrives and this season’s come to a conclusion,” Nash said. “But in my mind right now, I’m not going to play for Canada anymore.
“I just can’t do that.”
But now, Canada coach Leo Rautins says he’s still hoping that Canada can qualify for the Olympics and tha Nash will don the maple leaf this summer, and join other Canuck superstars, umm…uh…well I mean, carry the team and the hopes of his entire nation on his 175 lb. frame.
But if Nash does decide not to play in China, I have a suggestion for a Canadian player who has been known to take over a game…
