Stoops proved wrong- again
Back in February Peoria Centennial High School recruit Jarrell Barbour changed his commitment from the University of Arizona to ASU. Barbour stated that ASU had a better chance to get him in academically. This didn’t sit well with Wildcat head coach Mike Stoops, who at the time made reference to ASU becoming a “Junior College”, while UA has remained a four-year school. After Stoops got over feeling so butt-hurt about losing another prized in-state recruit, he apologized.
He might have to issue phase two of that apology. Over the weekend it became known that Barbour is academically ineligible to play for the Sun Devils, and will most likely enroll at a local Community College to pursue his associate’s degree, before moving on to Division 1 football.
Wildcat fans can take solace in the fact that if/when they lose to the Devils on the gridiron for the fourth straight time, at least it will be a loss to a real university.
