UofA Signs Shooting Guard……

The News:
The Arizona Wildcats added much needed depth on Monday night.
Kyle Fogg a 6’3” shooting guard out of Brea Olinda High in California committed to the Wildcats and will receive a full scholarship according to his AAU coach Dino Trigonis.
Fogg was being pursued by UNLV, Providence and San Diego State.
He is considered to be the 14th-best player out of California and the best remaining unsigned senior in the western United States.
Our Take:
Finally some half way decent news for the University of Arizona basketball program. In a week where a top recruit, Emmanuel Negedu , was released from his letter of intent and head coach Lute Olson told fans to give up their tickets if they weren’t happy, any news is good news.
Fogg is being touted by people as the “best recruit remaining on the west coast”. Honestly that is like being called the coolest dork on Beauty and the Geek, what’s the point?
Kyle probably is a very talented basketball player but the fact that the three schools competing with UofA for his services were UNLV, Providence and San Diego State speaks volumes.
The once proud Arizona basketball program is slowly becoming the 45 year old woman at the super market who you can tell used to be hot but didn’t get the memo that her time was up about 7 years ago.
Ladies and Gentlemen Lute Olson can continue to dress this team up like the hot 25 year old but in reality they’ve slowly becoming the nothing too special 45 year old.
Welcome to the Kyle Fogg era of UofA basketball.
