Owings solid, bats quiet for D-Backs in 3-2 loss to Marlins

can pitch. Tuesday night in Miami, the 2nd year right-hander went 7 innings, giving up 3 runs and striking out 10. But it wasn’t enough, as the Snakes were bitten by former teammates in a 3-2 loss. Mr. Diamondback Luis Gonzalez, now with the Marlins, singled in a run in the 4th inning, and Dan Uggla, a former D-Back farmhand homered in the 6th.

With the loss, Arizona falls to 28-17 on the year, Florida ups their record to 25-19. Brandon Webb is on the hill tonight for the Diamondbacks, looking to become the first pitcher in 23 years to start a season 10-0. Webb will be faced by Florida’s Ricky Nolasco (2-3, 5.18 ERA).

First pitch is 4:10 Arizona time.
