Wow, have the bats gone silent for the Diamondbacks in the first 2 games of their road swing in Florida. Ricky Nolasco went 7 strong innings, and the bullpen combo of Matt Lindstrom and Kevin Gregg shut down the Arizona offense again in a 3-1 win on Wednesday night.

Brandon Webb tasted defeat for the first time all season, by no fault of his own. Webb yielded 3 runs and 6 hits while striking out 7 in 7 innings. It was the first regular season loss in 12 start for Webb, who was last beaten 8-5 by the San Francisco Giants last September 17th.

The series concludes today with Arizona’s Dan Haren (5-2, 3.14 ERA) taking on Marlins’ righty Andrew Miller (3-3, 6.18 ERA). First pitch is at 4:10 Arizona time from Dolphin Stadium.
