Allan Houston to the Suns?
No, not as another possible assistant coach but as a role player.
Houston, who last played in an NBA regular season game in 2005, has been working out at the US Airways Center on a regular basis lately. Apparently he is on the Suns radar and has been since April.
Steve Kerr’s Free Agent Check List:
- Over 30 years old
Check
- Will play for cheap
Check
- Willing to sit on the bench and collect said cheap paycheck
Double Check
- Previous injury
Check
- No prior NBA championship so that he is hungry
Check
He looks to be just what the Suns need. Another 30 something player who has lost a step and has a history of injuries. He’s Grant Hill minus the upside.
This off season should be fun. Maybe Reggie Miller, Penny Hardaway and Alonzo Morning can fill out the rest of the bench.
