Report Card - Martin Hanzal
Hanzal - B+ The kid most likely to need seasoning in SA turned out to be one of the best assets up the middle. Once Hanzal figured out that not only could he play in the NHL, he found out that size does matter. We saw a heroic shutdown defensive center develop right before our eyes as the season progressed. If he can get a handle on some serious point production to go with his ability to win crucial face offs and keep top lines from running amok through our neutral we will have something spectacular on our hands.

The only reason Hanzy didn’t get the A from me is that he started slow and with his size he should have been a bit more physical… can’t wait to see what he can do next season with the possible 10 - 15 pounds he will put on that frame over the summer and the confidence he gained from last season.
