It was fitting there were postgame fireworks after the Arizona Diamondbacks hosted the Kansas City Royals at Chase Field, because there were almost none during the game.
Chad Tracy did manage to ignite one bottle rocket, launching an 0-2 pitch with one out in the 10th inning from Kansas City reliever Yasuhiko Yabuta over the right field fence, and lifting the D-Backs to a 1-0 win over the Royals. Th
Doug Davis pitched brilliantly for Arizona, lasting 7 innings and giving up 6 hits while striking out 7. He settled for no decision. His counterpart, Zack Greinke, also pitched well. Greinke also went 7, giving up only 3 hits, but walked 7.
Former Royal Billy Buckner got his first win for the Diamondbacks, just hours after being recalled from Triple A Tucson. Yabuta took the loss.
