Negedu saga ends, he’s headed to Knoxville
Emmanuel Negedu, once a member of the U of A’s 2008 recruiting class, is headed to Tennessee to play his college basketball. Negedu’s release from his scholarship commitment from Arizona was well-publicized. After he was granted the full release, Wildcats’ head coach Lute Olson took some shots at the freshman-to-be. Olson said “..there were some things that came out about his coachability – or his lack of coachability.”
Jason Smith, Negedu’s coach at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire took exception to Olson’s comments, saying they could have been “sour grapes”.

Its a good choice by Negedu. Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl is building a powerhouse program, and seems like a great coach to play for. Negedu was also considering Memphis, Georgia Tech and Indiana.
