Every Monday we name the top 5 news makers in Arizona sports for the week prior. These can be either good or bad for Arizona Sports. Heck, they can be former players, coaches, opposing teams, etc. We call this the super, ultimate, face crushing, Arizona Sports Power Players Poll of the week!

1 (NR) | Robin Lopez | The Suns got their man and Robin Lopez will hopefully come in and make an immediate impact on the defensive end for the Suns. While not the best Lopez in the draft, the Suns had been eying Lopez in the 15th spot and were able to snag him. | |

2 (NR) | Diana Taurasi | Leading the team to wins in the Mercury’s last 5 out of 6, Diana has topped 25 points four times and took player of the week honors for the week of the 16th-22nd. | |

3 (NR) | Steve Kerr | Steve Kerr had a monster draft, pulling out both of his top targets, Robin Lopez and Goran Dragic. Goran might be stuck in Europe for the next year or two, but if Kerr can now find a way to get Goran in a Suns uni by October, he will be in great shape. | |

4 (NR) | Diamondbacks | The Diamondbacks are truly free falling. After winning only 2 games on their recent road trip, they are limping back home this week for a much needed home stand. The team that was the best in the league for the first month and a half, now has been one of the worst in the league for the latest month and a half. And the most amazing part: this team is still in first… | |

5 (NR) | Trevell Quinley | Former ASU Long Jumper Trevell Quinley has a career-tying best of 26 feet, 11 3/4 jump to secure an Olympic bid, beating out former Olympic Gold Medalist and fellow ASU athlete Dwight Phillips. | |
