Most people who watched Dan Haren pitch last night in a 13-7 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates realized it wasn’t up to the high standard he has set in his first season with the Diamondbacks. The club’s brass didn’t seem to mind.

Haren and the team have agreed on a 2-year contract extension that will kick in for 2011 and 2012, and includes a club option for 2013.

Haren is 12-5 with a 2.71 ERA, which ranks him 4th in the National League.

The Diamondbacks have a 3:00 PM press conference to dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s.
