Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash is a really good guy. And that’s not just because he plays for the Phoenix Suns.

Nash and the city of Victoria British Columbia are working together in an effort to provide different sports and cultural facilities to the citizens of Uganda.

In a quote given to the Vancouver Sun Nash said:

“The youths of that community have experienced absolute horrors. We want to create a center to give these youths the opportunity we’re afforded.”

According to the Sun the facility will include free soccer, basketball and other sports equipment. It will also provide children with an interest in the arts with materials and classes.

Big applause goes to Nash for making this happen. It’s not everyday you get to read about an athlete doing something good (that’s usually is because we are too busy reading about whether or not Brett Favre is going to be a Packer or not).
