Shaq joins forces with Deuce to drop hunger

shaqeatingcactus1.jpgShaquille O’Neal has a big heart to go with his 7′ 1″ frame.

He and the New Orleans Saints’ Deuce McAllister will team up to help the charity Feed the Children. The two will be honorary hosts of the “Celebration of Joy and Hope” dinner. The invent, held in Mandeville, LA, will take place on August 29th from 7:30 PM to 11 PM.

You may wonder if for the cost of a cup of coffee you can feed a child for a day what does $275 get you. Well you’re in luck because you can feed yourself and get a chance to meet Shaq, oh and help a charity, for that low low price. All proceeds for the event go to help the Covington Food Bank and the Samaritan Center of Mandeville by way of Feed the Children.

As ESPN’s Stu Scott would say “Big Ups” to Shaq for his charity work. My only question is would they have been better off taking the food that he would have eaten and feeding 40 to 50 kids with it for a week?
