Webb Gem Is Sweet 16!

Brandon Webb carried a shut out into the 9th last night, and although the Pittsburgh Pirates managed to get a run, that’s all they got and Webb finished the game. The complete game 3-1 victory  was Webb’s 16th of the year. He’s the first in MLB to reach 16 wins. He figures to have about 9 more starts this season.

I want to say some things but it feels about a month too early. But you D’Backs fans know what I’m thinking.

Kudos to Chris Young and Connor Jackson for driving in the runs for Webb.

The latest report is that Webb and the D’Backs had agreed to years and money with respect to a contract extension, but some other things didn’t get settled so the matter was tabled and no talks are ongoing.

Let me state the obvious: Getting Webby extended is Job 1 in the off-season.
